ST. LOUIS • The question posed to me in the press box Tuesday night was one that usually comes from atop a barstool or hunched over a pint, not while grabbing game notes: With two teams the Cardinals are chasing, the Cubs and the Brewers, playing each other, who exactly are the Cardinals faithful supposed to cheer on?
The Cardinals trail the archrival Cubs by four games in the division race, and they have only three games remaining against the Cubs, all at Wrigley Field. The Brewers lead the Cardinals by two games in the division race and the wild-card race, but there are six games remaining between the Cardinals and Milwaukee, all of them at Busch Stadium.
