Whelp, the World Cup of Hockey claimed its first victim today, and of course it’s a (kind of) Blue. Vladimir Sobotka suffered a clavicle injury today during the Czech Republic’s exhibition game against Russia.

Sobotka took a hard check from Zaitsev just before leaving the game and apparently was hurt on that hit.

Later updates stated that it wasn’t as bad as some feared - a broken clavicle - and despite a trip to the hospital Sobotka might play on Saturday.

Still, between the “will he/won’t he” of Sobotka’s return and this injury, Sobe’s stirring up unnecessary drama.
