Sometimes, the games won and lost in a playoff series can be misleading. The numbers simply don’t tell the entire tale.
Case in point: the St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars may be tied up at one game apiece in the second round of the playoffs, but the advantage clearly tilts in one team’s direction. That team is Dallas.
The Stars are executing their game plan, getting the best of St. Louis on both ends of the ice, imposing their will. The Blues seem to lose complete control of their game for longer stretches than the Blues, which leads to better chances for Dallas and prohibits the momentum from settling down into one area.
