With the St. Louis Blues down 2-0 Chris Porter tried to make some magic happen against the Minnesota Wild and went hard to the net with the puck.
The shot went five-hole on Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk and Porter came in to poke it across the line. Blues fans lost their collective minds when they saw it go in. The Blues had done it!
The next thirty seconds were to prove miserable.
The goal was immediately waved off despite the puck definitively crossing the line because, according to the NHL review, the whistle was blown after the initial save was made.
