For the majority of game five, the St. Louis Blues had no issue establishing their play. However, at times during the first period and the second period, the same inconsistent play that we have seen from the Blues in the regular season came back to haunt them.
The Blues have had a great postseason series against the Chicago Blackhawks. Up until last night, they had held the Blackhawks top five forwards to just one empty-net goal throughout the series. However, last night things changed as the Blues played a somewhat sloppy game that led to the Blackhawks scoring three goals in the second period.
