The St. Louis Blues signed Jordan Binnington to a two-year deal earlier in the summer, further cementing himself as the Blues number one goalie. The signing, however, should not shut the door on Evan Fitzpatrick’s status with the team.
Fitzpatrick made a brief detour to St. Louis last season after Chad Johnson had been released, but failed to make an appearance, leaving Jake Allen to carry the load until Binnington made his debut.
The 21-year-old has performed at every level he has been at, including winning the Memorial Cup Trophy with the QMJHL’s Acadie-Bathurst Titan during the 2017-18 season.
