We all want the St. Louis Blues to be able to defend their 2019 Stanley Cup. Despite our constant need to know what is happening and when and how long things might be going on, the NHL has no need to rush into any decisions.
That said, one decision the NHL should come to immediately is to say that without a finish to the 2019-20 season, no Stanley Cup would be awarded. This will be met with a small backlash, but it is the right thing to do.
This all stems from the rumblings you occasionally see online about what to do with the championship should the NHL be forced to cancel all games, have no playoff and just wait to see if they can start 2020-21.
