St. Louis Blues enforcer, Ryan Reaves, has been fined by the NHL’s Department of Player Safety for his elbow to the back of Anze Kopitar in his team’s 3-0 loss to the LA Kings last night at the Scottrade Center.
<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” lang=”en”><p lang=”en” dir=”ltr”>St. Louis’s Ryan Reaves has been fined $3,024.19, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for roughing on Los Angeles’s Anze Kopitar.</p>— NHL Player Safety (@NHLPlayerSafety) <a href=”https://twitter.com/NHLPlayerSafety/status/661948704488845316″>November 4, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src=”//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>
The hit, as seen in the video below, certainly warrants some sort of action. There really wasn’t any reason to hit Kopitar from behind, especially when the puck was nowhere near him.
