When you boil any playoff series in the NHL down to the simplest form, most fans can pick out why a series was won or lost. The St. Louis Blues win over the Winnipeg Jets was no different.
When you strip everything away, you can easily just say the team that scored more won the game. On the surface, that is true, even in this series. However, just about nothing else made any sense as the Blues took on the Jets. So much defied conventional wisdom.
The Blues did not dominate in their wins. They did not overwhelm the Jets with offensive firepower.
