ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Blues playoff breakthrough has arrived, their streak of first-round failures is over. Former Chicago Blackhawks forward Troy Brouwer scored a third-period goal to lift the Blues to a 3-2 win over the Hawks. The Blues will now face the Dallas Stars in the second round.
How it happened: The Brouwer goal was the result of another great sequence from Paul Stastny and Robby Fabbri, both of whom played a fantastic game. Brouwer took a great pass from Fabbri, shot off the post, gathered the rebound and backhanded it home in a goal that will be remembered for a long time by Blues fans.
