Graeme Nichols of The Athletic: Chris Johnston reported back before the draft that Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson showed a desire to be traded.
Anderson’s two-year extension with a $4.75 million cap hit kicked in at the start of the season. He has a 10-team no-trade list.
Holding onto Anderson is the easiest decision for the Senators to make as he’s a leader and they don’t have anyone ready to fill the starters position.
If they need a stop gap or potential No. 1 in the next years, free agency would be an option but the options may be less than desirable.
