NHL Rumors: Blues and Jaskin … Maple Leafs and Nylander

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: The St. Louis Blues had put forward Dmitrij Jaskin on waivers earlier in the week and he was claimed by the Washington Capitals.

Blues GM Doug Armstrong said they had been trying to find a trade partner since the end of last season at Jaskin’s request.

“At the end of last year, Dmitrij asked if it was possible for a trade,” general manager Armstrong said. “He felt his career was stagnating. And I understood that.

“So at the draft I informed all the teams that he was looking for a new opportunity.
