The St. Louis Blues are in the final stretch of the season. Only 20 games remain but for one player, the race for the playoffs has a special meaning. Jordan Schmaltz looks to be getting his first crack at NHL action. The 2012 first round draft pick has been waiting for his opportunity a long time. Having spent three seasons at the University of North Dakota, Schmaltz is now in his second season with the Chicago Wolves.
Having missed the first part of the season with an upper body injury, the Wisconsin native has racked up 25 points in 42 games.
