The move comes the night before a matchup with the Winnipeg Jets.
With the Blues carrying only 12 healthy forwards due to the placement of Martin Havlat onto unconditional waivers, it was expected that the Blues make a call-up.
It just wasn't the call-up that many expected. From the Blues' press release:
St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General ManagerDoug Armstrong announced today the club has recalled forward Jeremy Welsh from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Chicago Wolves.
Welsh, 27, was originally signed by the Blues as a free agent on July 21, 2014 and is currently in his second season with the Wolves.
