Thirty nine shots on a goalie is usually pretty good, but when the team doing that shooting lets the goalie see each shot telegraphed from space, the number doesn’t trump quality.
The Blues played well for stretches in game five, especially in the last five or so minutes, but playing well for a full sixty minutes would go a long way to keeping the Blues off of the golf course this week. So would figuring out Dallas’ penalty kill so you can get a power play goal.
The Blues best players need to play better, especially O’Reilly (who, as BenFred points out, has not been good on the dot this series, which has led to some of the Blues’ problems) and Tarasenko, who apparently only scores on the PP now.
