The St. Louis Blues are in the market for upgrades on both ends of the ice before Monday's 3pm EST NHL trade deadline, and they are reportedly dangling forward Patrik Bergland in trade discussions right now in hopes of greasing the wheels on a deal.
St. Louis is reportedly looking for a second- or third-line winger and/or a defenseman to bolster their roster heading into the stretch run and NHL Playoffs.
The Blues have been already been rumored to have interest in such players as Toronto Maple Leafs winger Joffrey Lupul, Edmonton Oilers defenseman Jeff Petry, Arizona Coyotes rearguard Zbynek Michalek, and Columbus Blue Jackets forward Mark Letestu. Bergland could be the key in bringing one of those names to St. Louis.
Bergland, 26, has two years left on his current deal at an average of $3.7 million per season. He's reportedly being available for trade for a good portion of the season, but GM Doug Armstrong hasn't found a suitable match to ship him off quite yet.
