Per Scout.com, Josh Roberts has committed to St. John’s basketball.
Roberts, a 6’9” forward originally from Alabama but now playing for Montverde Academy, is the first commit of the 2018 recruiting cycle from the freshman ranks, though transfers Mikey Dixon from Qunnipiac and Sedee Keita from South Carolina will also be new to the court next season after their mandated redshirt years. Boubacar Diakite, who enrolled this fall, will also see the court for the first time.
Josh Roberts visited last weekend, his first visit despite some interest from South Carolina, Clemson, Auburn, Troy and others.
