NEW YORK -- St. John's baseball coach Ed Blankmeyer earned his 700th career victory with a 9-5 win over Wagner on Wednesday.
Blankmeyer, in his 21st season with the Red Storm, has a record of 700-430-4 -- all at St. John's -- and is the winningest coach in the program's history.
St. John's (12-9-1) used nine runs in the first two innings to cruise to the milestone win. Jesse Berardi had three RBI and two runs scored, and Michael Donadio and Josh Shaw each drove in two in the Red Storm's fifth straight victory. Kevin Torres (1-0) earned the win with two scoreless innings of relief.
