With the announcement that guard Marcus LoVett will not be returning to St. John’s (a conclusion many thought was logical based on the disconnect between the staff and the player with respect to his injury), St. John’s now has at least two scholarships to work with for next season.
Archbishop Stepinac guard Alan Griffin has been a player who has caught the Red Storm’s recruiting eye from last summer. But the mutual interest has risen recently, with an offer coming in January and a visit to the home game against Xavier.
Griffin may not be ranked on ESPN or 247Sports, but he has attracted interest and offers from Minnesota, Rutgers and other programs.
