NEW YORK -- Damon Lynn scored 32 points with five 3-pointers and NJIT held off a second-half surge by St. John's to win 83-74 on Sunday.
Chris Jenkins scored a career-high 19 points with five 3-pointers, Tim Coleman added 10 with 11 rebounds, and Ky Howard had 10 points with nine assists for the Highlanders (7-5). NJIT shot 11 of 20 from long distance (55 percent).
Down by four at halftime, Federico Mussini put St. John's up 41-39 with two 3s amid a 12-5 run early in the second half, but the Highlanders soon led 62-50 after Lynn scored nine points amid a 15-0 run.
