NEW YORK -- Alex Louin scored 18 points and Caroline Coyer added 17 to lift Villanova to a 71-59 win over St. John's on Friday night giving coach Harry Perretta his 699th career victory.
Perretta has his first chance at 700 on Sunday at Seton Hall. His next victory will make Perretta the 14th Division I coach to reach that milestone. He'd also be the third active coach to do it at one school, joining Geno Auriemma (UConn) and Robin Selvig (Montana).
The victory moved the Wildcats (16-9, 9-5 Big East) into second place in the conference.
