It’s been eight days and 20 hours since St. John’s last played in a competitive game, the 82-70 loss to Arizona State that was closer than the final score looked. The Johnnies have had a week of rest, finals and now, Chris Mullin’s team finally gets on the floor against the Iona Gaels.
Rivalry, renewed.
Chris Mullin accepted the Iona matchup in the Holiday Festival, telling the NY Post that the way St. John’s was when he played was the Johnnies never avoided any team. Tim Cluess, Iona’s coach, wants to see the matchup more regularly.
