The Red Storm fell for the first time this season, dropping this one 74-68 to BYU. The Red Storm looked ‘fun’ at times, but could not make the plays they needed to win. They led 12-9 about eight minutes into this contest but would never regain the lead.
For as many shots as both teams put up, the first half was not a masterclass in offense. Going into the break, St. John’s was a lousy 9-31 (29%) from the field and 2-11 (18%) from beyond the arc. BYU did not fare much better as they went into halftime shooting 12-33 (36%) from the field and 4-12 (25%) from deep.
