In the Big East, two rough injury notes for other teams in the league.
Sean McDermott, a redshirt freshman for Butler, will be out for 4--6 weeks. As the Indy Star points out, the Bulldogs are a poor three-point shooting team, and McDermott is the team’s best perimeter shooter; he has connected on 42% of his outside shots.
Butler is 5-2 on the season, and defeated Ohio State (and former coach Chris Holtmann) without McDermott. But his loss will be a blow.
St. John’s will not face Butler until mid-January - after McDermott is slated to return.
