Tuesday was the final day of group play in the 2016 U20 FIBA European Championship, with both Italy and Spain set to determine their status for the 16-team bracket.
Italy fell to 1-2 in the tournament after losing to Sweden, 69-65. Federico Mussini's squad was up by seven points at the half, but Sweden immediately stormed back with effective pick-and-roll play that sparked a 7-0 run to start the 3rd quarter. Italy will face Serbia tomorrow in the first round of bracket play at 11:30 a.m. ET.
In the most surprise development of the day, Yankuba Sima and Spain knocked off Israel (who was 2-0 before Tuesday) by 19 points.
