Skateboarding originally started in California to give riders a way to “surf the streets.” While skateboard technology has improved since the first skate competition in Hermosa Beach, Calif. in 1963, the basic concept has stayed the same. Now, with electric boards hitting the market, skateboards are undergoing major advancements for the first time since the invention of urethane wheels. StarkBoard, from StarkMobility, is the latest product pushing the edge of skateboard tech.
The StarkBoard is an electric skateboard that doesn’t require a remote. Intelligent weight and motion sensors measure body weight distribution and does a lot of the balancing for the rider.
