As runners traverse the 26.2 miles of the Los Angeles Marathon on March 19, they’ll now be able to utilize over 40 on-demand location-based Snapchat Geofilters. Through a partnership between Snap, Inc. and the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon, runners and spectators can now incorporate the marathon-themed overlays into the experience.
Additionally, with more than 24,000 athletes and 500,000 fans watching, the Snapchat initiative will be the largest ever conducted in the endurance space.
On Wednesday, Snapchat and the Los Angeles Marathon will kick off the partnership with special-edition Geofilters throughout the area at various locations such as the Santa Monica Pier and LA Live, among others.
