The TCS New York City Marathon will be beta testing a new feature behind-the-scenes this year that will offer real-time predictions on race winners. This comes as event organizers work to imagine how they might be able to leverage sports betting in the future.
The marathon, sponsored by India-based IT company TCS, has debuted new tools that will aid this year’s race. Those tools will position it as the “most technologically-advanced marathon in the world,” said Michelle Taylor, TCS’s head of sports sponsorships.
TCS will leverage its existing Ignio data analytics platform to predict the winner. Since its launch in 2015, Ignio has used artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation to power enterprise IT services at major Fortune 500 companies.
