Due to growing concerns about COVID-19, the Free Fire Champions Cup 2020 will be delayed, originally scheduling for 19 April in Jakarta, Indonesia. Garena, Free Fire developer and esports tournaments organiser, released a statement on the situation.
Garena decided to delay the event, rather than cancel it outright when Indonesia’s President announced the Coronavirus intrusion into the country. The developers have quoted a’ engagement to make our athletes, fans, partners and workers safety and wellbeing a priority,’ following a decision by Indonesia that confirmed the country on Monday, March 2 with its first COVID-19 cases.
