The Global Esports Federation has detailed the initial composition of its Athletes and Players Commission.
The commission has been created to focus on education, fair play, and the development of career pathways for esports players.
The Athletes and Players Commission was confirmed alongside seven other commissions that focus on various areas of the esports ecosystem, including education and finance. It’s chaired by five-time Olympian Charmaine Crooks, with Koen Schobbers serving as the vice chair.
Crooks spoke on her role in the commission in a release: “I am thrilled to bring my experiences as an Olympian, administrator, and entrepreneur with a deep passion for sport and technology – together with Koen, we will advise the GEF Board and help shape the organisation, convening this incredibly inclusive community, and uplift the lives of so many through the Global Esports Federation development platforms and #worldconnected outreach.
