Freedom Drone Sports is attempting to further solidify giant drone racing across the globe, recently signing a memorandum of understanding with the FAI (World Air Sports Federation), which is responsible for sanctioning air competition internationally.
Through the new collaboration, the two organizations will be working together to develop drone racing with the non-traditional sport still in its infancy. The partnership will center around drone certification, pilot licensing, track design, developing rules and other formal measures to move drone racing forward, something the Australian-based commercial company Freedom Drone Sports has been investing in as it looks to build the Formula 1 of “live” giant drone racing.
