We’ve heard of the 10,000 step-a-day exercise recommendation for years, and now Fitbit along with 2K are jointly promoting active living.
In a first-of-its-kind integration beginning Nov. 25, the connected health and fitness company and NBA 2K17 are providing gamers with in-game rewards for users who achieve 10,000 steps a day with their Fitbit devices. When eclipsing the mark, a gamer earns a temporary boost to MyPLAYER in NBA 2K17 and improves on-court performance, making NBA 2K17 the first video game to utilize Fitbit wearable technology and data to give users in-game rewards.
“Any athlete will tell you that a healthy lifestyle is a major key to success and by rewarding gamers for healthy lifestyle habits we hope to help motivate them to achieve their goals in life and in-game,” Alfie Brody, Vice President of Marketing for NBA 2K, said in a statement.
