The E3 2020 was cancelled following a novel coronavirus problem posed by various participants in connexion with the event and suggested its withdrawal according to an Ars Technica article. The report confirms it was submitted by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), which will soon be formalised.

On March 4, ESA said they were “monitoring and reviewing the situation every day,” and assured its fans that E3 remains on schedule and is held as planned without delay. On March 4, every event has been either cancelled or postponed.
