United States stays unbeaten in Kansas City with 1-0 win over Panama

The United States Men's National Team maintained its unbeaten record in Kansas City with a 1-0 win over Panama on Wednesday, finishing atop Group D of the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup and setting up a quarterfinal showdown with Curacao on Sunday in Philadelphia.

Jozy Altidore's electrifying bicycle kick in the 66th minute ignited rapturous celebrations at Children's Mercy Park and gave the Americans their third straight shutout win of the tournament. The U.S. MNT is now 5-0-1 all-time at the heralded stadium and 7-0-1 in matches played in Kansas City.

Should they defeat Curacao on Sunday, head coach Gregg Berhalter's men will meet the winner of Jamaica versus Panama in next Wednesday's semifinals in Nashville.
