The Desert Diamond Cup is in full swing with just one more set of games to go before we determine who will play for the cup. One thing is for sure, the Swope Park Rangers will not play for the Desert Diamond Cup. No, they are set to play FC Tucson, the tournament hosts, on Championship Saturday.
All the Major League Soccer (MLS) teams do not have opponents set for that Saturday yet. Is it because Swope has done so poorly that they simply don’t have a chance at the title? Actually it’s quite the opposite. The Rangers are leading in points for the tournament, with four MLS teams tied for second (Sporting Kansas City, Columbus Crew, New England Revolution and Real Salt Lake).
