One of Sporting Kansas City's all-time greats has ended his second stint with the club.
Veteran midfielder Benny Feilhaber was among the players whose contract options were declined on Thursday, meaning the 34-year-old won't return to Sporting in 2020.
In a heralded career highlighted by an MLS Cup, two Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup titles, a Concacaf Gold Cup title and a trip to the 2010 FIFA World Cup with the United States Men's National Team, Feilhaber has established himself as one of the premier playmakers in American soccer over the last decade and a half.
Not too surprisingly, Feilhaber ranks among Sporting's all-time leaders in multiple categories.
