The Swope Park Rangers played to a 0-0 draw with Arizona United SC on Saturday night. The game was the Rangers’ second in the Desert Diamond Cup where they remain undefeated after claiming a 3-1 win over MLS side the Colorado Rapids.
While it was the Rangers who struck early in Wednesday’s game, Arizona United almost inflicted a similar punishment when, in the second minute, James Nortey found himself one-on-one with Jon Kempin but his chipped finish came back off the bar.
SPR reacted well with Christian Duke firing wide two minutes later and Tyler Pasher seeing his shot saved out for a corner just before the 10 minutes mark.
