Swope Park Rangers fall 4-1 to Real Monarchs

The Swope Park Rangers fell to the Real Monarchs 4-1 in a devastating loss, snapping a five-game undefeated streak at Zions Bank Stadium. Kharlton Belmar scored the Rangers’ lone goal, marking his league-leading eighth goal of the season.

Belmar started the night strong after clipping an early goal off a good through-ball by Hadji Barry in the 8th minute. However, the Monarchs quickly gained control of the first half as they started to create opportunities.

The Rangers rallied until the 24th minute when Kalen Ryden leveled the game with a goal off a deflected header. Just moments before halftime, Adrian Zendejas — returning to the field after being cleared by the concussion protocol — was able to deflect Richard Ledezma.
