SPR's Ualefi makes Sporting KC debut in CONCACAF Champions League

At the start of the season, Ualefi did not expect to play for Sporting Kansas City in 2016. The 22-year-old Brazilian signed for the Swope Park Rangers in January after spending the entirety of his young career in his home country, primarily with Sao Paulo-based club Corinthians.

Then, after starting all 23 games for the Rangers in the United Soccer League, Ualefi got the call from Sporting KC. He began last night’s Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League game with Vancouver Whitecaps FC on the bench, before entering the game in place of Soni Mustivar in the 64th minute to make his Sporting KC debut.
