This Saturday the Swope Park Rangers will continue play with a game against former Sporting Kansas City USL affiliate, Oklahoma Energy FC. Energy FC was Sporting Kansas City’s USL affiliate during the 2014 and 2015 seasons and players like Mikey Lopez, Jon Kempin, and Kevin Ellis benefited from gaining experience while with the team.
Since the Rangers have become the affiliate for SKC, the Energy have become the USL affiliate for FC Dallas. Now that there is SPR though, there’s been talk of a rivalry starting up. This rivalry didn’t take long to fester either. Twitter has already seen it’s fair share of smack talk this week between the two supporters groups.
