In honor of Major League Soccer's 25th season, JIm Reineking of USA Today has ranked the league's top 25 players of all-time. Not too surprisingly, two Sporting Legends have made the cut.
Kansas City goalkeeper Tony Meola comes in at No. 21, while playmaking midfielder Preki ranks 19th. Meola and Preki comprised the inaugural Sporting Legends class in 2013 alongside club founder Lamar Hunt.
"A goalkeeping legend in U.S. soccer, Meola had a season for the ages in 2000, setting a record with an incredible 16 clean sheets en route to leading the Kansas City Wizards to their first MLS Cup win," Jeff Reineking writes.
