Sporting Kansas City striker Dom Dwyer opened the offseason with an operation.
A week after his club was eliminated from the Western Conference playoffs, Dwyer underwent arthroscopic surgery Wednesday to clean up bone spurs in his right ankle. The surgery was considered minor, and Dwyer is expected to be fully healthy before for preseason camp in late January.
On his Instagram account, Dwyer said, “Time to rest up and come back a better player.
“I want to win trophies. I want to score goals. Gutted to finish the season how we did but looking forward to spending some time off with family and friends.
