Sporting Kansas City has signed 21-year-old Macissé Diop as the club’s official eMLS competitor. Diop will represent Sporting KC in national and global EA Sports FIFA 19 events throughout the 2019 season.
Diop, who owns the gamer tag OvO__6IX and attends Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, became a competitive FIFA gamer in 2017. He competed in two FIFA Ultimate Team FUT Champions regional tournaments that year, securing a top-16 finish in Miami and a top-eight finish in Vancouver, before placing second at the FIFA 18 Philadelphia Union Cup.
More recently, Diop traveled to Bucharest, Romania, last month for the FUT Champions Cup, a tournament that involved 64 of the top FIFA gamers in the world.
