On Friday the MLS held Stage One of their 2015 MLS Re-Entry Draft. Sporting Kansas City was one of two teams to make a selection (along with FC Dallas). Sporting KC selected, with their 11th pick (after nine of the 10 teams ahead of them passed), goalkeeper Alec Kann, formerly of the Chicago Fire.
Picking a player off the last place finishing Alec Kann may not be very exciting, but rest assure, he wasn’t the problem. Kann has made just one appearance in MLS ever. He played his first game on Decision Day against the Supporter Shield winning New York Red Bulls.
