Sporting KC's return home on Saturday night also saw the return of Salloi and Russel from injury, as well as Shelton on the bench. With a near full-strength starting XI they took the field.
The game was always going to be a tough test for the 12th place SKC side to beat 2nd place Real Salt Lake but they rose to the occasion.
