Sporting Kansas City has added League Pool Goalkeeper Charlie Lyon to the club’s roster for tonight’s match against the Colorado Rapids in the MLS is Back Tournament. Lyon has been in Orlando and undergone the same testing and medical procedures as all other players involved in the competition since arriving more than two weeks ago.
Lyon, 28, began his professional career with Seattle Sounders FC as a 2015 MLS SuperDraft selection after a four-year collegiate career at Marquette University. He spent most of the 2015 and 2016 seasons on loan with second-division side Tacoma Defiance, playing 42 matches for the club, before making 31 appearances as Orange County SC’s starter during the 2017 USL Championship season.
