The Sporting Kansas City Academy U-18s were crowned U.S. Youth Futsal national champions on Monday, defeating Pittsburgh-based Ambassadors 1999 by a 6-2 scoreline in the title game at New Century Fieldhouse in New Century, Kansas.
The U.S. Youth Futsal National Championships featured 147 teams from across the country playing for titles at U-9 through U-18 levels at locations across Johnson County, Kansas. The Sporting KC Academy was represented not only by the U-18s, but the U-12s, U-13s and U-14s — each of which played up an age group and finished national runners-up.
The U-18s topped FutsalRVA (Virginia) on Friday and BRUSFA Five Guys (Illinois) on Saturday before falling to Ambassadors 1999 in Sunday’s group stage finale.
