The winger becomes the first MLS free agent to sign with Sporting Kansas City.
Sporting Kansas City signed their first free agent ever with the addition of midfielder Justin Mapp, the club announced Monday.
Mapp missed the majority of 2015 with a dislocated elbow suffered in March, followed up by a toe injury which kept him sidelined. He made only five league appearances in 2015. He put in eight assists in 2014 and seven in 2013 for the Impact.
He can switch from left or right winger positions, which helps Sporting KC with attacking options off the bench and also allows them to rotate.
