Sporting Kansas City II has signed seven-year MLS veteran Dillon Serna, the club announced today. Still just 25 years old, Serna spent his career to date as a Homegrown player with the Colorado Rapids and will be added to the Sporting II roster pending league and federation approval.
Serna signed his first professional contract with the Colorado Rapids ahead of the 2013 MLS campaign, and went on to 112 appearances in all competitions for the club, tallying 12 goals and seven assists while playing in a variety of positions.
After making his professional debut against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on October 27, 2013, Serna solidified his place in the team the following year, starting 18 of 27 appearances in the 2014 MLS season and tallying a career-high three goals and four assists.
