SKC trades Dykstra to Colorado

Sporting Kansas City announced they have traded Andrew Dykstra to the Colorado Rapids for a second-round draft pick in 2020. Dykstra (32) played in four matches for Sporting KC in 2017, making 10 saves and giving up 5 goals with a 0-2-2 record.

This move answers one of the questions for Sporting KC’s roster. Would Vermes carry four keepers on the roster? The answer seems to be no.

The clear starter would be MLS keeper of the year Tim Melia. With talented up and coming keeper Andrian Zendejas looking like he claimed the number two spot in preseason and SKC’s first-round draft pick Eric Dick waiting to be signed, manager Peter Vermes had to make a decision.
